Propecia Description

Propecia is a drug designed to treat hair loss and baldness in men only.

Propecia is intended for the treatment of only androgenic forms of alopecia (synonyms: male-pattern baldness, hereditary alopecia). Approximately 95% of all cases of baldness refer to this type. The drug is not intended to treat other forms of hair loss: circumscribed alopecia, alopecia, caused by lack of vitamins and nutrients, and other forms of baldness. The nature of these forms of hair loss is totally different than in case of androgenic alopecia, and the benefit of Propecia will be little or none at all.

The main advantage of Propecia is its high efficiency. The results of clinical trials of Propecia show that the hair stopped falling out in 85% of patients, 50% could boast of regrowth of hair after a year of treatment, after two years – enjoyed 66% of trial participants. Unfortunately, the drug did not show such excellent results in women. Moreover, it is completely contraindicated for women. It was found that Propecia can cause birth defects in the fetus, in case of using it during pregnancy.

Side Effects:
Side effects reported in clinical trials were rare and did not concern most men. Approximately 0.5% of men have experienced any of the following side effects related to the sexual sphere:
• reduced libido (decreased sex drive)
• difficulties in achieving an erection
• reduction of the amount of sperm
Side effects disappeared completely in men who stopped taking Propecia.

Contraindications:
Propecia is used to treat baldness in men only and should not be taken by women or children. Propecia should not be used by people who have experienced an allergic reaction to any of the components that make up Propecia.
