Nexium Description
This medication is used to treat erosive reflux-esophagitis and other stomach problems (such as acid reflux or GERD, erosive esophagitis). The principle of it work is in blocking stomach acid, which can lead to the relief of such symptoms as heartburn, difficulty of swallowing, coughing, and sleep problems. It can also prevent acid damage to your digestive system (e.g., ulcers, cancer of the esophagus). Nexium can also be used in combination with antibiotics to treat certain types of intestinal ulcers caused by bacterial infection.
Side effects:
You may experience: nausea, gas, stomach pain, headache, diarrhea, constipation, or dry mouth. Inform your doctor in case of worsening or exacerbation of any adverse effects. Many people using this medication do not have side effects. If you have such an unusual but serious side effects as signs denoting infection in the lungs - pneumonia (e.g., cough, fever, trouble breathing), dark urine, yellowing of eyes / skin, heaviness / pain in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, unusual fatigue, signs of vitamin B-12 deficiency (over 3 years), inform your doctor immediately. If you have a serious allergic reaction, seek medical attention. Severe allergic reaction may include such symptoms as rash, severe dizziness, itching, swelling, trouble breathing. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy and can be taken only if really necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This medication penetrates into breast milk. If you start taking Nexium consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
